Recently, the 2026 “Tianzheng Design Cup”, the 20th National College Student Chemical Design Competition, concluded successfully. Hefei University(HFU) students won one national second prize and two national third prizes.
Co-hosted by the Chemical Industry and Engineering Society of China and the China Education Association of Chemical Industry, this year’s event attracted 4,690 teams and 23,000 students from 503 universities nationwide, with both the number of participating universities and the scale of teams hitting a record high.
Relying on “Chemistry and Chemical Engineering Enthusiasts Association” and the “Chemical Engineering Home” education platforms, the School of Energy Materials and Chemical Engineering of HFU has been continuously deepening practical education in chemical engineering design. The School has participated in the national competition for 17 consecutive years, advancing to the national finals seven times and accumulating a total of 47 national awards, including 5 first prizes, 17 second prizes, and 25 third prizes.
Going forward, HFU will continue to give full play to the educational function of academic competitions. Supported by the relay-style training model of the “Chemical Engineering Home”, it will further deepen industry-education integration and the construction of the second classroom. By promoting learning, practice, and innovation through competitions, HFU will continuously improve the training quality of applied chemical engineering talents, encourage more students to engage in scientific and technological innovation, dare to practice, and achieve new honors on the stage of various academic competitions.
